May racing news

May has been a hectic month for racing with something on every weekend.

Starting the Month with Spring speed nationals, team Metamorphosis were No.1 qualifier and went on to win the event in Nostalgia Superstock. The team were back out at the Main Event and at the Nostalgia Nationals. Pete the driver has got to grips with the car and despite this being his first full season he is consistently pulling reaction times under 0.1 of a second and is currently leading the Nostalgia Superstock championship.

Inbetween Metamorphosis meetings Mike was crewing for Kev Slyfield’s Blown Bird Pro Mod. This was a pretty full on weekend for the team including overnight trips back to Kev’s workshop on the south coast to machine parts for the car to make the following days runs. It all paid off though and the team managed a new PB terminal speed of 240mh.

Metamorphosis will next be out at the Summer Nationals racing in the Modurstang Pro ET class on 2nd and 3rd of July. If your heading to Santa Pod for this event then be sure to check out the Pro ET band, The Timing Retards, in the pits on Saturday night, Organised by Mike and featuring our own Pete on drums with a selection of familiar faces.

In other racing news, I (Brad) raced at Peterborough Arena in a round of the DTRA National Flattrack championship, it was a successful meeting, despite not riding so much this year I qualified 5th and finished the final in 6th and was awarded the organisers rider of the day.
